Terms of Service

The Traditional Chinese version of this document is the authoritative text. Other language versions are for reference only; in case of any discrepancy, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.

Welcome to Bonfire. These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and HunterXtop Digital Technology Co., Ltd. (頂尖獵人數位科技股份有限公司) ("we", "us"). They explain how you may use Bonfire, what we are responsible for, and what we are not responsible for.

By creating an account or using Bonfire, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What Bonfire is

Bonfire is a platform for building teams around shared work. You can turn something you want to make into a "spark", publish it, and let other people apply to join. You can also browse other people's sparks, apply, push tasks forward together in the workspace, and write down the roles, contributions and revenue split as an agreement record.

What Bonfire provides is a set of tools and records for stating a collaboration clearly. We are not a broker, not an investment matchmaker, and not an employer.

2. Where the platform stops (please read this)

Bonfire explicitly does not do the following. Please do not use the service on the assumption that we do:

  • We do not raise, collect, or hold funds of any kind, and we do not provide third-party payment or performance guarantees.
  • We do not guarantee that any project will succeed, make money, or produce any return.
  • We are not a party to the contract between you and the people you work with, and we do not act as an intermediary, broker, or guarantor.
  • The identity, ability, integrity and performance of the people you work with are for you to verify and judge.
  • Any transfer of money, payment of compensation, and handling of taxes is completed by the participants themselves, off the platform, at their own responsibility.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password safe. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

Please register only one account per person. If you find your account has been compromised, tell us immediately.

You must have full legal capacity, or use the service with the consent of your legal guardian.

4. The content you publish

You keep the copyright in the spark content, profile, applications, tasks, comments and files you publish on Bonfire.

So that the service can work at all (displaying, storing, generating thumbnails, appearing in search results), you grant us the right to use that content to the extent necessary to provide Bonfire. This licence is free of charge, non-exclusive, and ends when you delete the content — except where others have already saved it, or where it is part of a collaboration record that has already been established.

You must make sure the content you publish does not infringe anyone else's rights, and you are responsible for whether it is true.

5. What you must not do

While using Bonfire, please do not do any of the following:

  • Post scams, illegal deposit-taking, pyramid schemes, managed-investment offers, guaranteed-return offers, or anything illegal.
  • Impersonate someone else, or present false experience, work, or trust information.
  • Post someone else's personal data without their consent, or repurpose personal data you obtained on the platform.
  • Post content that harasses, discriminates, incites hatred, is pornographic, or infringes the rights of others.
  • Send bulk spam, flood applications, or access the service improperly using automated programs.
  • Attempt to break, disrupt, or work around the security mechanisms of the service.

6. Agreement records and proof of existence

The agreement feature helps you write down the roles, contributions and revenue split of a collaboration, and stores a content hash and timestamp as proof that "this is what both sides saw at that time".

It is a record-keeping tool. It is not legal advice, and it is not the same as a formal contract reviewed by a lawyer. Whether it has legal effect, and what the rights and obligations actually are, still depends on your real agreement with each other and on the applicable law. Where significant amounts or significant risk are involved, please seek professional legal advice yourself.

7. Electronic signatures and cross-border transfer to Documenso

Some collaboration agreements can be completed with an embedded electronic signature. Bonfire uses the third-party service Documenso Cloud to run the signing flow and to retain signing evidence.

When you start or join a signing, Bonfire sends Documenso only the email address needed to deliver the signing invitation. Bonfire does not pre-fill or transmit your name, unified business number (統一編號), national ID number (身分證字號), or other identifying data to Documenso; the identity fields in the signing form are filled in by each signer.

Documenso is an overseas (cross-border) service provider. While a signing is being processed, the related data may be transferred to, stored in, or processed outside the Republic of China (Taiwan). You understand and agree that, as necessary to complete the electronic signature, the relevant email addresses and whatever you fill in on the Documenso form are handled under Documenso's own terms of service and privacy policy.

In this flow Bonfire acts as a witness and intermediary record-keeper, mapping the signing status and the necessary signing records back to the agreement on our site. Bonfire is not a party to the contract between you and the people you work with, and gives no guarantee about the continued availability of Documenso or about foreign regulations. If you do not agree to the cross-border transfer, please do not use the electronic signature feature, and complete the agreement in another way you both accept.

8. Linking HunterXtop

You may choose to link your HunterXtop account so that your already-public trust information is shown on your Bonfire profile. This is only a display of data. It is not a guarantee or endorsement by us of that user's ability or integrity.

9. Fees

All of Bonfire's features are currently free to use.

If we introduce paid features in future, we will announce the pricing and scope on the site beforehand. We will not charge you anything before you have explicitly agreed to it.

10. Changes and interruptions to the service

We keep adjusting and improving Bonfire, and may add, change, or discontinue parts of it. The service may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance, upgrades, or events beyond our control.

We will make reasonable efforts to keep the service stable, but we do not guarantee that it will never go down or never go wrong.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Bonfire at any time, and you can delete your account yourself from the account settings page. Deleting clears everything that identifies you; collaboration records and amounts that have already been established are kept in anonymised form, so that the records held by other participants are not broken. See the Privacy Policy for details.

If you breach these terms, or your conduct harms other users or the service, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account, and remove the related content where necessary. We will give you notice beforehand where circumstances allow.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Bonfire is provided as it is. We are not responsible for content published by users, for the outcome of collaborations between users, or for decisions you make based on information on the platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of expected profit, or loss of data.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). For disputes arising from these terms or from the service, both sides agree that the Taiwan Taipei District Court shall be the court of first instance, without affecting the rights consumers have under the law.

14. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms. Where there is a significant change we will announce it on the site or notify you by email; if you keep using the service after the announcement, you are taken to have accepted the updated terms. The date shown at the top of this page is the last updated date.
